Collaboration Producing Interesting Data
A collaborative Peace weather network project provides an open-access system of weather stations distributed across the BC Peace's agricultural area. BC Peace Agri-WeatherNet utilizes near real-time weather data to provide decision support tools and information services for GDD, CHU, SprayCast, BinCast, B-Smart and more. CleanFARMS Free Collection
CleanFARMS will be running a free obsolete pesticide and livestock/equine medication collection program at 2 ag-retail locations in the Peace Region of British Columbia this fall on September 21 and 22, 2016. The program is being run in conjunction with the Alberta obsolete collection program.

Improving Pasture With Bale Grazing & Winter Feeding
& Fall Equinox AGM of PRFA of BC

We will celebrate the Fall Equinox with an afternoon and evening of activities. We will begin in the field learning about options for improving pastures through bale grazing and winter feeding. Guest speakers Glenn Hogberg and Ron Buchanan will share both what they learned at last springs conference in central Alberta and what they have learned over several winters by experience on their ranches. This will be followed by a hot supper and our AGM.

Learn how to measure the health of your soils. Jay will measure carbon/ nitrogen ratios, water infiltration rates and conduct slake and run-off tests. He will discuss practices that can improve and build soil health, including a cover crop strategy.
